Biography Cont.
Janine has been a volunteer art teacher at her neighborhood school for more then ten years. Additionally, Janine volunteered to teach a clay workshop for all of Tucson’s children after the 9/11 Attacks. This effort was designed to teach children how to work through life’s trials by expressing themselves in art. The Tucson Pima Arts Council and Councilman Fred Ronstadt’s office sponsored the event.
As with most women artists, raising her children came first and the artist in her waited. Now, with her children “mostly” grown, Janine has begun that long anticipated venture as a career artist. However, focusing on a single medium, oils, has not been her entire effort. She also paints in pastels, is a printmaker, sculptor and, for a year and a half, a gallery owner. Janine Hart Manemann has won many awards and various accolades. She is certainly an artist to watch!
